Ibland undrar jag verkligen hur jag tänker, och när jag började lacka med Harlow idag så blev jag än en gång arg på mig själv för att jag låter lack stå otestade för länge. Visst, hon blev inte favoriten ur kollektionen, men jag blev ändå positivt överraskad trots att jag redan trodde att jag skulle tycka om Harlow.
Som vanligt med de här matta lacken så handlar allt om att ha rätt mängd färg på penseln och jobba rätt snabbt för att man ska få ett jämnt och fint resultat utan kala fläckar eller vallar. Det här är alltså inget undantag, och som alla andra matta lack jag använt så krävdes det två lager för mig att få resultatet ni kan skåda här ovan.

When I started polishing my nails with Harlow earlier today, I couldn’t help but feeling stupid and sad about letting polishes be untried too long. I expected to like wearing Harlow, and yet I was surprised how much I actually turned out to like her. Not the favourite from the collection, but if you ask me, there are no bad ones in the bunch.
As usual with matte polishes, I’d say the application is all about having the right amount of polish on the brush, and working rather quickly with it. It dries fast, so if you’re too slow, you can end up with cuticle drag and/or large ridges. This was not an exception, and as all the other matte lacquers I’ve used, it took me two coats to achieve the result I was happy with which you can see in the pictures above.

With a little help from my friends… Ja, allt verkar vara möjligt! Jag blev inspirerad till att lacka med och blogga om Blue Moon idag, tack vare bra kvinnor (tjejer? människor?). Sminkan tyckte att jag skulle ta något jag var sugen på, och tack vare Feline som var generös nog att ge mig det här vackra lacket så föll lotten självklart på Blue Moon när min kompis Emma ville se något blått med glitterflagor i.

Tyvärr är det väl inte de bästa bilderna, men efter att knappt tittat på min kamera på några månader nu så blir det som det blir. Alternativet var ju att inte lägga till några bilder alls i inlägget, och jag misstänker att ni inte skulle förstå hur fint lacket är om jag bara försökte beskriva det i ord.
I skrivande stund så finns det visst bara ett endaste lack från Pahlish på bloggen, men det ska jag försöka ändra på så fort jag kommit tillbaks in i bloggrutinerna. Blue Moon är i vart fall det mest lättapplicerade jag testat från det här märket, och även det finaste. Det är två lager på bilderna och torktiden var bra. Ett lager överlack räckte fint för mig för att få till den ytan jag kräver, så ni som är rädda för överlackshungriga glitterlack behöver inte frukta!

Everything seems to be possible with a little help from my friends! I was inspired to paint my nails with Blue Moon today thanks to three lovely women (girls, ladies, people?). Sminkan wanted me to pick out a color I felt like wearing, and thanks to Feline who was generous enough to gift me this gorgeous lacquer I immediately knew that Blue Moon was THE one as soon as my friend Emma said she wanted to see something blue with glitter flakes in it.

I’m afraid these are not the greatest pictures ever, but after a couple of months of barely even looking at my camera this is all I could muster. The alternative was to try to tell you in words only how lovely the polish is, and I guess that… would be quite difficult. Plus boring of course.
As I’m writing this I realized I’ve ever only blogged about one lacquer from Pahlish, which is a bit weird since I have a few of them. I’ll try to correct that as soon as I find the routines for blogging again, I promise. Either way, Blue Moon is by far the most easily applied polish I’ve tried from this brand so far. I was afraid it’d give me terrible VNL with just two or three coats, but it turned out that the two coats pictured were actually enough! 

Här får ni ett livstecken i form av mitt svarta favoritlack, nämligen Fade to Black från Deborah Lippmann. Det sved lite i plånboken och i hjärnan när jag köpte ett vanligt, svart lack för 140kr, men eftersom jag började lyssna på Metallica som 8-åring kunde jag verkligen inte låta bli. Det här är alltså ett lack som jag köpt enbart på grund av namnet.

Är förstås en enorm bonus att lacket snabbt blev en favorit hos mig. Fler bilder än den ovan är faktiskt överflödiga då det inte är annat än ett superblankt (japp, ni ser det utan överlack här) lack, med en aningen tjock formula som ändå appliceras som en dröm på två lager för mig. Det torkade till och med snabbt utan överlacket, men det hade jag förstås på sen ändå för hållbarhetens skull.

Here’s some  proof of life in the form of my favourite black polish which is Fade to Black from Deborah Lippmann. It did pain me a little in both my brain and wallet to pay 140SEK for a regular, black polish, but since I started listening to Metallica when I was 8 years old I really couldn’t help myself. Yes, I did buy this one solely because of its name.

It sure is a huge bonus that Fade to Black turned into a favourite of mine though. I think one picture of it is enough for you to see that it’s really black and also super shiny (yes, this is without any top coat). The formula is a tad thick, but the two coats I put on were dreamy to apply. It even dried fast without the top coat, but of course I put it on later for the longevity of  the manicure.

Have you ever bought a polish solely because of the name?

Vi avslutar China Glaze-veckan med det vampiga Branding Iron tycker jag, som precis som Midnight Ride kommer från Rodeo Diva-kollektionen. Branding Iron har i mitt tycke lite bättre formula och var därför mer lättlackad än dess kollektionskompis, och till bilderna här har jag lagt två lager färg plus överlack.

To finish this week of China Glaze polishes off, I’m posting about the vampy Branding Iron. I already posted about Midnight Ride earlier this week which was also from the Rodeo Diva collection, and I have to say that I like Branding Iron’s formula more.I put on two coats of polish which were easier to apply, and then used one layer of my regular top coat.

Ett av de få lacken jag skaffade ur Cirque du Soleil-kollektionen är It’s a Trap-eze!. Jag har ju insett att jag älskar mjölkiga glitterlack, så jag såg verkligen fram emot det här lacket. Väl på naglarna tycker jag bara att det ser ut som att någon ätit en skål med mjölk och strössel som inte lösts upp i mjölken, och sen kommit upp igen. Absolut ingen hit hos mig även om det verkar vara vissas klara favorit ur kollektionen.

Det är så mycket glitter i lacket att eventuell dålig täckning med den vita basen blir maskerad på bara två lager av It’s a Trap-eze!. Här är det dessutom två lager överlack på för att få en fin och slät yta.

I didn’t buy many polishes from the Cirque du Soleil collection, but It’s a Trap-eze! is one of them. I’ve come to realize that I love milky glitters, so you could easily say that I looked forward to this polish. Alot. Once on the nails I just think it looks like someone ate a bowl of milk filled with sprinkles that didn’t dissolve in the milk, and then threw it all up again. You can tell that I found it to be a huge disappointment, huh? Seems to me that lots of people favoured it out of all the polishes in the collection though.

There are so much glitter in this polish that you don’t have to worry about the white base being uneven or streaky, cause they cover it all up in just two coats. I put on two coats of top coat aswell to achieve a smooth surface.

Det tog ett bra tag innan jag skaffade Skyscraper, och sen ännu längre tid innan jag faktiskt bar det. Tji fick jag, för jag gick ju miste om ett fint lack under all den där tiden. Silverglitter i en blå bas som jag här har lagt i tre lager på mina naglar och sen toppat med överlack. Skyscraper var lättapplicerat och jag hade inga som helst problem med torktiden.

It took me long enough to purchase Skyscraper, but guess what? It took me even longer to finally wear it. It’s a blue jelly base with silver glitter and here I’ve put three coats of it on my nails and then topped it off with top coat. It was easily applied and I had no problems whatsoever with the drying time.

När förslaget om att jag skulle bära ett mörkt skimmer kom upp så var det Midnight Ride jag kom att tänka på direkt. Det är verkligen mörkt. Nästan svart faktiskt, men det besitter superfint lila skimmer som gör lacket hur vackert som helst i rätt typ av ljus.
Det är dock lite udda att lacka med tycker jag, då formulan känns både rinnig och tung på samma gång. Lätt värt att lägga två lager av det på naglarna dock.

When the suggestion about me wearing a dark shimmer came up, Midnight Ride was the first and only polish that came to mind. It’s really dark. Almost black, but it holds a lot of super fine purple shimmer that makes the polish look stunning in the right kind of lighting.
The application is always a bit weird for me though, since I find the formula both runny and heavy at the same time. Totally worth putting two coats of this beauty on though.

När jag lärde mig hur mycket lack jag behövde ha på penseln utav Hanging in the Balance så tyckte jag att formulan var lättmålad. Det krävdes två lager för att få en jämn och fin täckning, och manikyren kändes helt torr efter inte alls lång tid. Pigg och härlig blå färg som gör sig ännu bättre utan handkräm på ytan.

After figuring out how much polish I needed on the brush, I found the application of Hanging in the Balance very smooth. I had to put on two coats to get an even coverage, and the manicure felt completely dry rather quickly after finishing up. It’s a bright blue color that looks even better without lotion on the surface.

Exotic Encounters är en dammig teal med en formula som är lite tjock utan att bli kladdig, och nästan täcker på ett lager för mig. Bara nästan dock, för jag fick lägga på två lager. Torktiden var bättre än okej.

Exotic Encounters is a dusty teal with a formula that is on the thicker side without being  goopy, and almost covers in one coat. I had to put on two coats though, but at least they dried rather fast.

Den här veckan ska jag försöka få ut lite inlägg på China Glaze-lack som legat orörda i mapparna lite för länge. Jag börjar med att blogga om Full Spectrum som jag här har lagt ovanpå Color Clubs Alter Ego. Tyvärr minns jag inte om det är ett eller två lager (men gissar på att det är ett), eller hur torktiden egentligen var. Hade den varit katastrofal hade jag dock kommit ihåg det, så jag antar att den var okej eller bättre.
Lacket består i alla fall av massvis av små rosalila och ett gäng större, olikfärgade glitter i en klar bas. Det sades att lacken i den här kollektionen var duokroma, men jag tycker att effekten i åtminstone detta lack är så svagt att jag är benägen att säga emot.

This week I’ll try to post about some China Glaze polishes that have been untouched in old folders for way too long. First out is Full Spectrum, that is said to belong to this duochrome collection called Prismatic. It consists of a clear base and lots of small pinkish purple glitter and then some larger glitters in different colors. 
I think I put one coat of Full Spectrum on top of Color Club Alter Ego, but it might even be two coats. I can’t recall anything particular about the drying time, so I’ll just assume that it was at least somewhere around average or better.
