H&M – Blue My Mind
H&M lyckas verkligen bra med sina lack ibland, för Blue My Mind är verkligen klockren. Det är en klarblå färg som är lättmålad och snabbtorkad på de två lagren jag applicerade. Klockren, I tell you! Om jag ska klaga på något är det att korken inte är den bästa att hålla i när jag målar naglarna, men det är väl lite av en vanesak förstås. Och jo! Varför envisas H&M med att släppa så många lack i så många olika typer av flaskor? Tycker faktiskt att det är riktigt irriterande.
H&M really hits the nail on the head with their polishes sometimes, and Blue My Mind is one of those times! It’s a clear blue color which is easy to apply and the two coats I put on dried fast. Bull’s eye, I tell you! If I had to complain about something though, it has to be the bottle cap. It’s not really comfortable holding on to while painting my nails, but I guess that would get better if I got used to them a bit more. And uh oh! Why oh why is H&M releasing so many polishes in soooo many different type of bottles? I find it really annoying.
China Glaze – Instant Chemistry
Nu till något helt nytt: Instant Chemistry från China Glaze, som släpptes alldeles nyss i “Magnetix”-kollektionen. Det här mörklila är lättapplicerad, täcker på ett lager och torkade snabbt med en liten boost från Poshé. Fantastiskt roligt tycker jag att det var! Kanske inte just att sitta och hålla en magnet ovanför nageln för att få fram mönstret, men själva slutresultatet gillade jag verkligen. Kan man kanske räkna det som en slapp variant av nail art?
Eftersom att IC hör till mina första magnetlack så köpte jag även en platta med tre magneter på från China Glaze. Smidigt att slippa ha magneten fastlimmad på korken som jag sett i några andra fall, och dessutom väldigt bra att ha tre mönster att välja mellan.
This is something brand new to me; Instant Chemistry from China Glaze’s “Magnetix” collection. It’s a dark purple that covers well in just one not so thin coat, was rather easy to apply and dried fast with some help from my Poshé top coat. I loved this! Maybe not the part of holding a magnet over my newly painted nails, but I really enjoy the finished product here. Is it possible to classify this as a lazy kind of nail art?
Since magnetic polishes are new to me, I also bought this thing from China Glaze that holds three magnets with different designs. Really smooth to have it on a seperate plate-thingy instead of gluing it on top of the bottle cap like I’ve seen in some other cases, and also great to have those three designs to choose from.
China Glaze – Urban Night
Minns ni hur fint Urban Night var med lite flakies från Ludurana? Helt toppen tycker jag! Däremot tycker jag att Urban Night är helt toppen på egen hand också! I alla fall färgmässigt. Tyvärr var formulan lite väl rinnig och envisades med att flyta ner i nagelbanden på mig, men två lager räckte i alla fall för att det skulle bli täckande och jämnt. Snabbtorkat var det dessutom, även utan överlack!
Do you guys remember how good Urban Night looked combined with some flakies from Ludurana? I thought it was really awesome, but I find Urban Night equally as awesome on its own too. At least color-wise. The formula however was runny and the polish insisted on flooding my cuticles no matter how hard I tried to control it. At least it was enough with two coats to cover the nail well, plus it dried really fast even without a top coat.
OPI – That’s Hot! Pink
Tidigt i december var jag sugen på rosa, och då letade jag på mitt exemplar av That’s Hot! Pink från OPI. Så här kan tre lager av lacket alltså se ut, och även om det inte syns på mina bilder kan man skymta VNL i fel ljus om man har otur. Tyvärr tror jag inte att det går att bygga upp mer än så här heller, utan att landa på en sisådär sju lager lack eller kanske “bara” fem.
Borsten är ju lite som den är, men den funkade ändå väldigt bra till formulan som var lättmålad och dessutom torkade snabbt. Rosa och allt, det här är faktiskt ett av lacken jag använt mest i min samling!

In early December last year I felt like wearing pink, and that’s when I rummaged through my drawers to dig That’s Hot! Pink out. This is three coats and it dries fast and glossy, but as usual I ended up giving it a boost with my top coat from Poshé. Unfortunately, VNL shows its ugly face in the wrong kind of lighting and I think there would have to be at least five coats of polish to cover it up completely. None the less, this is actually one of my most used polishes at the moment and I really like it.

Kleancolor – Born to the Purple
Minns ni Forbidden Lust? Här har jag pimpat det med Kleancolors Born to the Purple. Har testat det över andra lack också, men det här är den första kombinationen jag testat där jag faktiskt gillar det lila glittret! Basen är svag lilatonad och i den finns det både små, runda korn och mycket större hexagoner.
Det här är två lager glitter som inte torkade vidare snabbt och krävde två lager överlack för att bli helt slätt.
Do you remember Forbidden Lust? I decided to pimp it a bit with Born to the Purple, which I tried over a few different polishes but never really liked. This is the first combination that I feel really works for me, and also the deciding factor that I will keep the glitter.
The base has a slight purple tone to it, and it contains both small, round glitters and hexagons that are a lot bigger. I used two coats and I’m sad to say that it didn’t really dry fast. It dried though, but needed two layers of top coat to become smooth.
A-England – St. George
När jag såg att man kunde förbeställa lack ur A-Englands nya kollektion som går under namnet “The Legends” så kunde jag inte låta bli att låta mitt klickfinger få som det ville. Jag hade sett bilder på kollektionen innan och hade planerat att skaffa tre utav dem, men nu slutade det med att jag faktiskt bara skaffade ett ändå; St. George.
I ärlighetens namn förväntade jag mig ett mycket mer holografiskt lack, för även om jag använde blixt för att få fram en holoeffekt, så upplever jag den som mjuk. Det är spritt holostoft, vilket snarare ger djup än regnbågar. Hindrar det mig från att älska St. George? Knappast! Kanske är det till och med så att jag hade tyckt om det mindre om det hade varit en massa regnbågar åt alla håll, för som ni vet är jag inte världens största fan av holografiska lack.
Färgen är en väldigt djup grön som lutar åt blått. När stoftet kommer till liv och det börjar glittra på nageln så ser det genast mer teal ut.
Hade jag haft kortare naglar hade jag nog kommit undan med bara ett lager, för ett flödigt lager räckte nästan. Det hade säkert funkat om jag använt mig av ett ännu flödigare lager, men jag föredrar att kontrollera formulan bättre med två tunnare istället. Lättlackat och fint i alla avseenden, förutom att jag behövde två lager överlack för att det skulle kännas glatt och helt slätt. Innan jag hann kleta på det andra lagret så kändes nagelytorna väldigt… kladdiga. Inte blöta, bara kladdiga. Sockerkladdigt liksom.
Jag ser verkligen fram emot tills jag får se det här lacket i solen!
I couldn’t help myself from pre-ordering St. George from A-England’s collection “The Legends” when I saw that I had the chance! I was expecting to see a very holographic teal, but in real life I perceive it more as a deep, shimmery green. The holo is scattered, and even in the sunlight it gives more depth to the polish rather than the rainbows I thought I’d see. Don’t get me wrong though; I’m not disappointed! I’m not the biggest lover of holographic polishes out there, and St. George is right up my alley with the lovely green which is leaning towards blue. When there’s a sufficient amount of light and the nails start to sparkle a bit it definitely looks more teal right away.
There’s a good chance to get away with just one coat of polish, but here I used two. I find it easier to control the formula with two thinner coats, plus it just feels kind of natural to apply two coats for me.
The application was really good, and in my opinion there’s just one minor problem with this polish! It actually took two layers of top coat to achieve a smooth surface. Not that it was bumpy or anything, but it was actually sticky. Not wet, just sticky. In a sugary way.
I long for the day I will see this polish in the sunlight!
IsaDora – Forest
Konstigt nog så fungerar formulan på Forest väldigt bra med den superäckelbreda penseln, för det var väldigt lätt och smidigt att applicera. Två lager var allt som krävdes för att det skulle bli jämnt och fint. Färgen är väldigt murrigt grön och är späckad med flecks i guld, som gör att Forest tenderar att se lite brunaktig ut i visst ljus.
This time IsaDora‘s formula works almost perfectly with the horribly wide brush. It took two easily applied coats to get the color even and smooth. Forest is a very dark, mossy green with golden flecks. In some lighting conditions it tends to look almost brownish.
